Testosterone overwhelming TV financial programs -- like shopping for a car

Article Submitted By:

I hate buying a car because of all the shouting, aggressiveness, and other testosterone driven behavior displayed by salesmen. Car dealerships are catching on, adding women to their sales force and lowering the hype and noise levels. That is not yet the case with Wall Street, especially the financial media. In fact, the newest shows on TV are worse than ever. Just look at Cramer or Fast Money or even CNBC. Cramer is ridiculous, and the “boys of Fast Money are children in recess after a tough time in school. I know Fast Money has added a woman and the CNBC has one too, but these are women with testosterone packed ovaries. Financial shows have copied car salesmen – the loud macho male model – with unadulterated glee.

Cramer is ridiculous, and the “boys” of Fast Money are children in recess after a tough time in school.  I know Fast Money has added a woman and the CNBC has one too, but these are women with testosterone packed ovaries.  Financial shows have copied car salesmen – the loud macho male model – with unadulterated glee.

I know a lot of women who would like to find a financial program (and not that silly Suzie Orman (sp?) and who just can’t.  We don’t need boys shouting at us and acting like fools.  We need calm and deliberate presentations – grown-up presentations.  It really is not a gender thing.  It rests really on an adult versus boys at a bar model.  I bet there are a lot of men out there who would much prefer not to have to put up with the antics of a Cramer or the kids at Fast Money.

If anyone is listening out there, tone it down and add some men and women of wisdom and calm.

This misses the point. The point is, are they right or are they wrong? Most of them are wrong. Give me the loudest most obnoxious of them if they're right. I don't want marshmallow words from commentators who have never been right about anything.

Agree 100%. However, I like it if lots of folks listen and act on the advice of these boys - in a zero sum game, inefficient markets are a long-timeinvestor's best friend.

Testosterone and making money are like peanut butter and jelly. Why do you think these shows are so popular? Sorry, but there are plenty of sober market reporters and people don't watch them. You can check them out on Bloomberg or CNN or PBS. Interesting that you yourself watch Cramer and Mad Money.

I am one of those men you suggest might like to see something else. I am so tired of the silly performances on these guys (and gals with "testosterone packed ovaries").
