My first post from Canada. Gas prices are over $5 as gallon here and there's no slow down in driving. This is what one Canadian has to say about it.

Gas over $5 per gallon? Is that due to higher taxes?

Yes, gas in Canada is very heavily taxed. It's ironic because Canada has more oil than the US.

In general though, I don't see Canadians driving less. They also own big cars, lots of minivans although not as many SUVs.

I don't think $5.00 is the breaking point based on what I see here.
