It really has gotten out of hand -- many receive hundreds of emails a day. It is so bad that many are hitting the delete without even pausing to wonder if a particular email just might be important. Companies, particularly, are worried about the time people spend navigating through their many emails each day -- even those they generate internally. Here are three efforts to get control.

This is a huge problem. Someone is going to come up with a new system -- and I don't mean spam controls. It really is out of hand. There will be something like an Email2 system only for those to whom you have written -- or something like that.

The solution is to charge providers a small amount to send bulk emails. That way, the spam providers will be forced out of business. Normal business or personal communication wouldn't be impacted.
The economics of email currently encourage the abuse.

Interesting article. Large companies can handle this, but it is a bigger burden for smaller companies for whom the providers have not provided a solution.
