France Telecom is again making all sorts of ridiculous acquisitions that they will later need to unwind. This article suggests that they are motivated by a desire to get into the faster growing emerging markets, but FT is already in these markets and this acquisition principally gives them a controlling stake in Sweden and Finland's fixed and wireless. Since Sweden and Finland are mature markets, this is the wrong way to do. Just a bad idea for France Telecom.
