Johnson and Johnson just lost a big one with its failed pain patch. It failed so badly that it killed someone. Everyone is trying to find new drugs to fill the void left by celebrex and related failures. This is big news and too bad for the company (and investors)

Patches can be tricky- regarding delivery rates, etc.
Duragesic is a good med, and generally works really well.
I would not expect this to cause any major problems for JNJ.

It is going to be very difficult for the US drug manufacturers (and non-US drug manufacturers in the US) going forward after the Cox-2 debacle. The FDA will be clamping down and won't be taking any more chances with anything. The nixed Sanofi's Accomplia last week for a link to suicide.
