If you are looking for VC funding it is very difficult if you don't have a past success to talk about. VCs want to invest in someone who has done it before. This of course, creates a chicken and egg problem. That's where companies like Momentum Venture Management come in. They help give the business some credibility so that VCs will be more interested.

I'm not sure how useful they are and if the price they charge is worth it, but if you need VC funding and can't get it, it's something to consider.
