Some interesting notes from a conference run by Y-Combinator. If you're not familiar with them, they are a new kind of seed venture company. They generally provide a low amount of capital - $10-15,000 to company's run by young entrepreneurs and take approximately 10% of the business. They provide guidance, connections, and help them get a prototype out the door. If the proof-of-concept does okay they also help hook the company up with additional capital.

There is much debate about whether this is the way for entrepreneurs to go. The capital they provide is pretty costly and some say their advice and connections ain't so great.

Nevertheless, I thought these notes were interesting food for thought.
