I for one find it inexplicable and unacceptable that a major accounting firm would turn against an audit client in order to cave in to this Putin tyrant's dogma. This sets a terrible precedent all around the world. What started as being bad for Russia now becomes bad for shareholders everywhere.

While Pricewaterhouse's actions appear troubling, the article points out that they are being put in an untenable position by the Russian government. Russia has become very, very wealthy, but they would be still more so and the wealth would be more evenly distributed if they could take concrete steps towards becoming a law-based state.
