The CEO claims that there are no acquisitions planned and that Bank of America's focus will be to grow from within.

One obstacle on growing its retail banking is the federal limit that caps any one bank's share of U.S. deposits at 10 percent.

Bank of America's weakness in investment banking has led some to think the next acquisition may be a brokerage company like Bear Stearns, Lehman or Merrill Lynch.
