The legislation calls for greater use of ethanol and tougher mileage standards for automobiles. Personally, I don't buy into ethanol. It takes more energy to produce it than we get from it.

I am also very skeptical about ethanol. This entire bill strikes me as an amazing case of Congress being completely out of touch. It is just much too little, much too late.

We are in a bind right now, but lots of really bright minds are working to solve it. It won't be solved in DC.

Something has to change. It can start by DC getting rid of its support for petroleum. Oil and gas is heavily subsidized. This eliminates the ecnonomic incentive for alternatives.
