I like Bloomberg. I think he is a fantastic leader and has served the City of New York exceptionally well during its recovery and growth for the last several years. I also think that he would be a spectacular President, but I am concerned that he is never really going to have the national appeal required to get elected. I am concerned that he may inadvertently play the role of spoiler for Giuliani, handing the Presidency to Clinton (as Perot did in 92 and 96) or to Barack Hussein. A Democrat President and a Democrat Congress would be a disaster for our economy, especially for the health care industry.

I personally don't think he stands a chance. Independent candidates never win although they can influence elections - a la Ross Perot.

I think he changes the chemistry and that we will see shifts now in the ordering of the others. Guliani is going to have trouble, as will Hillary.

Author/Submitter Response:

He is going to hurt the Republicans more if he runs. I don't think that he will steal votes from Hillary outside of New York City.

This entire bit about a three-way race between Hillary Clinton, Guiliani and Bloomberg is starting to smell too much like a New York-centric media anxious to create a buzz about anything during a slow news period. It is entirely possible that none of them will have national appeal.

He is not running. He has been successful at everything and isn't going to risk failing at this. End of story.
