The massive mortgage lender tries to protect itself from the stock market disaster that it caused with its earnings release 10 days ago. Things don't need to get much worse for this to spiral out of control and Angelo Mozilo to wind up with his red face sitting in front of Congress trying to explain why the industry was giving million dollar loans to people without social security numbers in California so that they could build shacks of landfills.
