The NFL is trying to keep a tight reign on what is happening online and has instituted a bunch of new rules. You can decide if they are overly restrictive or not:
- 45 seconds maximum per day (90 seconds maximum in two-team markets/45 seconds per team)
- Not live
- Available online for only 24 hours maximum -- no permanent archive video or audio
- Links back to NFL.com and team sites
Only used in editorial context (no sponsorship or advertising around content)
- No limitation on talking head video of reporters at NFL facilities does not include interview/press conference content
- 45-second limit per day includes any footage of team practice
Houston Chronicle sports writer John McClain demonstrated what this means.
