Politicians in Washington are considering legislation that would raise the tax rate on profits paid by the private equity industry. Although not necessarily intended to hit Venture Capital, as currently written it would.

The article is incorrect. They havenothing to worry about now that they paid off Chuck Schumer nicely. He is now the only bleeding heart liberal who things that it is perfectly legitimate for somebody to make $7 billion a year while squeezing everything that he can get out of businesses before IPOing it to the unsuspecting public. Go figure.

Two basic principles - (1) taxes should be applied equitably and (2) taxes loopholes can be closed in any market. The Dems need to fight the Republicans and their own on this one.
