It is really sad to me that people keep driving SUVs which are destroying the environment for their kids. This story about SUVs is still sadder.

The amazing thing about this article is not that it happened, but that neither set of parents said "I never want to own one of these God-foresaken things again." Instead, they are still driving SUVs!
When I see someone driving one of these things, it is almost like wearing a T-shirt that says "I don't care about the environment, my family, anybody, I just need to carry my golf clubs."
My husband and I once had to rent one for a day (the rental car company didn't have the car that we reserved and gave us a complementary downgrade.) My 3-year old daughter spent the entire day saying - "We don't need this. It is too big. Do you understand, mamma?"

Please don't paint everyone with the same brush. I drive a 2007 Toyota Highlander that gets better gas mileage and has much better rear visibility than my old BMW convertible.
