The President of the Boston Federal Reserve, Eric Rosengren wrote an opinion piece that is more public service announcement. He encourages homeowners with subprime mortgages to get help before they default.

What about mortgage holders who don't have subprime mortgages? I've been paying a higher interest rate for the last five years because I took out a conventional loan. Are the Fed and the banks going to refinance my loan at a lower rate? What if I lose my job?
