BankDeals just posted an article about some planned enhancements FNBO plans to make as well as the launch of a new credit card. All of this is to keep the customers it has acquired once its high savings rate promo ends on September 28, 2007.
The enhancements will allow you to:
* Set up reoccurring deposits into your FNBO Direct Online Savings Account from your pre-verified external transfer accounts
*Open and fund additional FNBO Direct accounts using your pre-verified external accounts
*Choose your username and password when you set up your account
In addition to continually improving our features and functionality, over the next few months we will be introducing new products and services to make your FNBO Direct relationship more valuable. For example, the FNBO Direct Credit Card will give you a competitive interest rate and cash back rewards deposited into your FNBO Direct Online Savings Account.”
The two main complaints against FNBO is the difficulty transferring money in and out of the account and poor customer service. None of the enhancements address this issue and it’s hard to see how members are going to open a credit card with them after poor experiences.
FNBO is still at the top of the rate chart so they may extend their promotion longer than September 28, or perhaps they will iron out some of their customer service problems. They are a new online bank so we can be hopeful.
