E*Trade is best known as one of the first online discount brokers. But lately they've been offering some great rates on savings and checking account.
E*TRADE FINANCIAL is a global financial services company, delivering financial services to over 4.3 million customers worldwide.

They dropped their rate to 3.45%. Too bad.

I regard this compamy as criminal. On numerous occasions people have reported that this bank accepted deposits and then refused access to the funds. Sounds unvelievable for such a large, visible public company, right? I would think so myself, but I'm one of those that got stung.

I have used E*Trade Bank for years. It offers a great rate for Brokerage Clients cash balances. In comparison to others, such as Scottrade, TD Ameritrade and others, this can't be beat.
Never had anything but great service at a great rate!

I've never experienced what E*Trade Victim describes. I've been using them for years with no problems. There account transfer options are some of the best I have used. I would not hesitate to recommend them at all.

I've used E-Trade Bank for a few years now and have only good things to say about them. I move money around quite often and really appreciate that they credit ACH money transfers very quickly, unlike some banks that like to hold your money several days w/o interest (like Capital One!). The only downside is their rates have been considerably below the leaders most of this year, a little disappointing given that some of us stuck with them last year when everyone was talking about them going bankrupt. I wouldn't hesitate to sink funds back to E-Trade if they choose to increase rates back near the leaders.

I have been using their online savings account for a little over a year. I DID have trouble with them early on (unclear about how to get the transfers up and running, poor english skills on THEIR end, etc), but as long as I don't have to deal wit htheir crappy customer care, I was okay. Of course now their savings rate is so low I am shopping around to ditch them alltogether......
