Good article. The biggest threat to your online banking safety comes from phishing scams and also from viruses and trojans and worms installed on your home computer. I read an article once that said that approx 10% of all recipients of phishing emails fall for the bait. I think things have gotten better but the threat still exists. When I worked at the bank, this was our greatest concern.

As a follow up, the best thing a consumer to do is keep their computer virus free, make sure a firewall is properly installed, and don't download something unless you know the source of the file.

My focus was more narrow, but those are excellent suggestions, as well. Viruses and trojan programs can track your keystrokes and passwords can be discovered. Making sure your computer is safe, helps ensure the safetey of your online banking.
