As discussed throughout this site, the auction rate securities fiasco has been a clear cut example of investment banks screwing their wealthy clients. Only when they realized that they were going to lose these clients have banks settled. Goldman Sachs is the premier brand in money management and works with the wealthiest of the wealthiest, and they won't settle.

If you are a client of these guys and are paying them 1% of your principle to (mis)manage your money, you need to question why the hell you are locked up while Merrill and Citi have let their folks out of this stuff.
