Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union has a history of competitive CD rates (NGFCU calls their CDs term accounts). Minimum deposit for the CDs is $2,500. Higher rates are available for a $40,000 minimum. The CDs are also available in both Traditional and Roth IRAs.

As of January 13, 2009, NGFCU has two attractive rates for its short-term CDs: 3.96% APY for 12 months and 3.42% APY for 6 months. Minimum deposit is $40,000. The rates for a $2,500 minimum deposit are 25 basis points lower.

In addition to employees of Northrop Grumman, the credit union's field of membership includes members of the Southern California Historical Aircraft Foundation. Membership into this foundation is open to anyone.

Membership and accounts can be opened online or at their branches. NGFCU branches are located in several California cities including San Diego and Los Angeles. Branches are also located illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana and Florida.
