As part of the SEC inquiry into the Whole Foods - Wild Oats merger, they have now gotten the Whole Foods CEO to admit to posting in message forums about his company and its competitors. I find this pretty amazing.

Is this illegal? I think it's pretty cool that a CEO would rub shoulders with the masses. Come on CEOs, rub some shoulders with me...please. I'll give it you straight. I also like the fact that he flat came out and admitted it. Face it like a man.

I think it's not the smartest thing to do. Who knows what kind of improper statement he may have made. It seems like a very risky way to behave, especially nowadays with Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.

It's amazing that a CEO is posting to message boards. I thought just people with too much time on their hands - like me - posted to these places.
