Icahn may be amazingly successful, but he bought Motorola at 19 and urged a breakup which drove it to 8. He bought Yahoo! at 29 and urged a sale to Microsoft. It is now at 23 (Jerry Yang is probably more to blame for that one). His Time Warner investment was not a looser, but a stupid investment nonetheless. Not a good record in tech for such an accomplished investor! (The attached is funny.)
