Local.com says that they have some sort of patent to cover enhanced directory assistance (which incidentally is a very, very competitive space with many patents). Their stock goes up three-fold in a week. The author of this piece seems to imply that it doesn't matter what the patent is or covers but that the very fact that they have it should drive a still higher valuation for the company. I think that this rationale is very weak and risky.

By the way, the same website provided an excellent rebuttal to the first story today. The rebuttal by analyst who is positive on the stock, suggests that it should trade 40% lower.
