Apple's admitting the Iphone is a bust!

Apple hasn't even launched the IPhone yet, and now they are pitching YouTube. Do they really think that there is so little that is compelling about their own product that they need to advertise Google's?

The writing is on the wall - IPhone is a bust.

No doubt that people are going to wait on line and buy it but the signs are there. Did you see the ad? Think about it - Do you really need to see someone else's dog riding a skateboard on your cell phone?

The phone is just an appliance, maybe a cool one. But it's what you can do with it that's really cool. That's why they are promoting YouTube. Without the Web and it's applications the iPhone would be a paperweight.

First, there are better apps than YouTube on the web. Second, the fact that they are focused on this one is kind of like admitting that the wireless web and the other applications on the IPhone really aren't that compelling.

Give it a little more time and you will see longer lines return the product that you will see on Friday to buy it.

There may be better apps but few that are as well-known. When you are doing an advertising campaign, you go with brands that as many people as possible know and use. It makes perfect sense.
