Even before the phone went on sale, there were a host of companies developing accessories for the iPhone. It is obvious that there will be a large array of such things in the near future. The iPhone will generate its own economy with products developed around the globe. There are now some very specific ones and many others that will follow -- some still unimagined and ripe for the entrepreneur.

Even before the phone went on sale, there were a host of companies developing accessories for the iPhone. It is obvious that there will be a large array of such things in the near future. The iPhone will generate its own economy with products developed around the globe. There are now some very specific ones and many others that will follow -- some still unimagined and ripe for the entrepreneur.

Certainly there will be all sorts of cases, in all colors. A good frame of reference is the iPod and all the accessories that have been developed for it. But, this will be bigger and far more interesting.

The only accessory here that makes sense is the syncing cable. All these skins and covers are largely a waste of money. It is like buying insurance on your phone. If the thing breaks, it breaks and you buy another one. There will be something better out in 6 months anyway.
