I share the author's skepticism about nuclear as a near term solution, but I think that it ignores reality to believe that India and China can become energy efficient. I have read separate studies indicating that India and China would not become energy efficient and would not be able to stop producing greenhouse gases, even if they were offered significant financial inducements.
