This is a brokerage firm nightmare every Morgan Stanley took them over.AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You tell rep on the phone A, B, C and they write down X, Y, Z. Have become very sneaky and controlling. They want large accounts to manage and they are nightmare to work with. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I was just reviewing my transactions data from 2021 as I prepare my taxes. The fees are enormous. They are out of this world. I guess this is how they make their money now that they aren't getting anything from trading and are owned by Morgan Stanley. I've been a customer for many years and will be switching now.

I've been a customer for 30 years. Morgan Stanley's has been a disaster. The fees are now absolutely absurd, and most of them are actually fake. I suspect that at some point state and local regulators will get involved, but in the meantime need to watch the account carefully and ask for money back. Customer service is still light years ahead of TD Ameritrade and Fidelity and Schwab is really for amateurs.

Beware. What they claim to save you, they get you back in fees up the Wazoo - ADR fees, reorganization fees, phone assistance fees. You'll be upside down where you would have been with a real broker pretty quickly.

I closed my account. The ads are geared to boys in their teens and I am a woman in my 30s. Very poor marketing decisions here.

I have online brokerage accounts with ETrade and Ameritrade, and I am terribly disappointed with both. Ameritrade seems to employ a bunch of children and even the simplest questions are exhausting; I often feel that they should be paying me to train their staff. ETrade has dreadful customer service too, but has good trading tools. I have been waking early in the morning and I am now noticing that many of the best trading opportunities occur around 6AM EST on some of the highly liquid index funds (such as QQQ and SPY). Neither ETrade nor Ameritrade will let me trade before 8 AM. Does anyone know which online brokerages enable early-morning or 24-hour trading?

I have an account with Etrade. I also have accounts at several other brokers and online brokers with many of the same stocks. I have noticed that whenever a company pays a dividend, ETrade always credits it one day late. That's called cheating customers at the margin.

When are the 1099's coming already?

  • January 13, 2017 |

Service is fine, but their site is always going down or operating much too slowly. Ameritrade is better, but they all have their faults.
