ING Direct has begun their annual "Financial Independence Days Sale" which will run through 11:59 PM RT on July 3rd.

The most attractive bonus is available to new customers of on Electric Orange Checking accounts for which they are giving:

  • $76 bonus if you make a total of 5 purchases using your Electric Orange Card or Person2Person Payments (or any combination of the two) within 45 days.
  • $76 more for setting up Direct Deposit and have two Direct Deposits of at least $250 post to your Electric Orange Checking by August 31st.

ING’s Electronic Orange account currently pays 0.90% on accounts with balances over $100,000, 0.85% on accounts with balances balances between $50,000 and $100,000, and 0.20% on accounts with balances under $50,000.

ING is also offering $17.76 for any new kids’ savings account opened. While $17.76 isn’t much money, it is free money for your kid and might just be the right incentive to prompt you to start teaching your kids about savings and banking.
