Recode’s Kara Swisher is a Great Technology Analyst, but Wrong On This One

BestCashCow has always been a big fan of Kara Swisher. We respect everything that she says.

We disagree, however, with her today. We live in a democracy. In a democracy, the most influential leaders of the largest industry have a responsibility to acknowledge the elected leader and to meet with him at his request in order to hear what he has to say. This obligation remains true even (or especially) when our democracy looks “demo-crazy”, when our President-elect is a narcissist, and when the meeting is nothing more than a photo op for his kids.

You can be sure that the leaders at Apple, Tesla, Google, Facebook and Microsoft are not particularly excited about recent developments. They will have plenty of opportunities tomorrow and over the next 4 years to stand up to Trump and oppose his Administration’s policies. Hearing him out first was the right thing to do.
