    This is probably the gold standard (or Platinum or Sapphire standard) now that Amex isn't.

    Earn 50,000 bonus points when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's $625 in travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®

    Just to hammer home the point through, if you transfer 50K points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards to get 625 in travel, if you just sent those 50K points directly to your United card, that would be 2 round trip tickets in the US as you only need 25K to book a one way ticket so you make out better by sending them to the airline directly rather than booking the ticket directly with chases reward system right?
